The Lake Superior Binational Forum is aware of the following July 18th,2010 Lake Superior Day events:

Thunder Bay:

Events will be held at the Thunder Bay Marina from 1 to 3 p.m. including the following:

1. Animals of the North - examine skulls, teeth, and even animal poop to see what makes our animals so special.

2. Bubblesphere - is where visitors can make the biggest, brightest, and longest lasting bubbles! They may also get to stand inside their very own bubble!

3. Eye-Spy-Science - See your eyes through your own eyes using real ophthalmological tools. You won’t believe your eyes!

4. Bug Fest - visitors will have the chance to get up close and personal with real, live bugs in our BugFest exhibit!

5. Science Challenge - test their engineering skills with our very own Science Challenge – using K’nex building tools!

6. Science Rocks - visitors can identify minerals using real tools, and learn why geology in Ontario ROCKS!

Terrace Bay:

2010 Lake Superior Day will be held today from 11am to 3pm at the Terrace Bay Beach.

The event will include a cleanup of the beach and bbq for everyone to attend. This will be followed by discounted boat charters and kayaking and activities for the kids.

Come on out for a great time!

The Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area(NMCA) will also be celebrating Lake Superior Day in Terrace Bay this year. On Sunday, July 18th the NMCA will have a booth with free interactive games and activities for children and families set up at Terrace Bay Beach between 11am. and 3 pm. -11:30 - 5:00 Lake Superior Watershed Information Booth and Parks Canada displays @ the Town Hall
-5:30 - 7:00 BBQ - FREE coupons for the BBQ meal for those that participate in the clean up. Coupons
available for purchase (if not picking up garbage) at the Registration Table.
-Fun for the whole family!
